NEW! When the weather is bad or a local emergency or epidemic affects HIT, there are a lot of questions to answer. Will HIT be closed? Does it include West River Head Start? You can get updated information on what's happening at our agency from our website: www.hitinc.org/hotline or by calling 667-7575 to hear a recorded message. The information will be posted on both systems at the same time, and will be the most up-to-date information.

West River Head Start has 7 center-based sites with a total of 11 classrooms: 5 classrooms in Mandan and one classroom each in Hebron, Hazen, Beulah, Carson, Elgin and New Salem. West River Head Start is a comprehensive early childhood program for eligible preschool children and their families.
Head Start Family Income Guidelines for 2009
Children are eligible to participate in Head Start if they are from families with incomes below the federal poverty level or if their families are eligible for public assistance (TANF or SSI). The 2009 Family Income Guidelines must be used to determine eligibility for Head Start for families who are eligible because they have low incomes.

This application includes the "Homeless Verification" and "Eligibility Document for Families with Zero Income". These documents only need to be completed if they apply to you. Otherwise submit proof of income (pay stubs, tax return, SSI, TANF).
