Our goal in HIT's Vocational program is to give our clients opportunities to work and earn a paycheck.
HIT has contracts with several entities throughout Bismarck/Mandan, and also runs several of its own small businesses that provide work opportunities for our clients as well as a few non-clients.
We offer:
- Hotel housekeeping crews -- HIT has contracts with three motels in Bismarck to provide housekeeping services Monday - Friday. Each contracted crew has 4-5 clients and one direct support professional as a supervisor. They clean up to 15 rooms a day.
- West River Produce -- West River Produce is our licensed commercial kitchen, renowned for its fruit pizzas, fresh fruit trays and fresh veggie trays.
- West River Lawn Service -- We have contracts to do mowing and other yard work for 25 residential and commercial properties in Bismarck and Mandan. This crew of 4 (plus a direct support professional supervisor) is busy from April through October. During the off months, they keep busy in our production department.
- Production -- Here's where we make our famous backyard Wrap-It Game. Our production crew also builds made-to-order gift crates, does laundry for a commercial cleaning business in Bismarck, paints fire hydrants in Mandan and other assorted production tasks and contracts as necessary. We have a shrink-wrapper, and offer that service to businesses and individuals.
