Nutrition Committee

In order to address the national and state trend of childhood obesity, West River Head Start initiated a Nutrition Committee in the fall of 2006. This committee is lead by the Health Coordinator and made up of staff, school cooks, community members and most importantly, Head Start parents. The mission of this committee is to provide staff guidance, educate families and children, role model healthy eating, and provide interesting and balanced menus. The committee meets twice each school year in the fall and spring. All families are welcomed and encouraged to be part of this committee.
