Staff come up big for donations for the HIT Foundation!

Not only are HIT employees big on giving to the community they are also BIG on giving to the HIT Foundation. In the inaugural appeal made to staff in December 2012 a wonderful thing occured and so many employees decided to give to the HIT Foundation throughout the year with donations and by using pledges paid off throughout the year. The HIT Foundation thanks all of you for your generous gifts!

2012 Pat's Pantry BIGGER than ever!

Thank all the HIT staff for doing another outstanding job with Pat’s Pantry. It is amazing how each year HIT staff surpass previous year numbers!!!

All of the staff who participated donated a whopping total of 5,881 items surpassing last year by 1,845 items donated! The donated items benefited the following: families in much need in Dickenson under the KIDS Program, West River Head Start families they serve, restock the Mandan Center Pantry. Also, Carries Kids filled a truck for her after school programs to help kids have enough to eat over the weekend. Community Blessings was able to restock their empty pantry and they went away with a truck and a van load of items!

All staff who participated are truly a blessing to the families and kids who will benefit!! HIT truly can't thank our remarkable staff enough with all of your generous donations to the annual Pat's Pantry campaign.

HIT Foundation completes first round of campaign

The first phase of the HIT Foundation campaign to raise funds to support HIT, Inc. services has completed with a great success.

The first phase of the campaign was the "Founders Funders Campaign". These donors consisted of the HIT Foundation board and the HIT, Inc. board and the HIT, Inc. leadership team. We are proud to have a 100% participation and commitment from all involved for this phase!

Thanks for the stewardship that was demonstrated by the Founding Funders by generating over $60,000 in gifts to the HIT Foundation.

Move Complete!

The move is complete. We're in the new building on Sunset Drive in Mandan. We're in and functioning with all systems go. A few things remain to tackle as would be expected following a significant move such as that, but all is going great and is nice to be in such a wonderful building.

New building nears completion

The services provided at 1402 2nd St. NW (Formerly known as the Heartview building) will be moving on July 5th and 6th. These services include support services and day services. Savannah Poitra top DSP in ND!

Congratulations to HIT's very own Savannah Poitra for being selected as North Dakota's DSP of the year for ANCOR (American Network of Community Options and Resources). She returned from the awards ceremony in Washington DC this week where she was presented the award for being the top DSP in North Dakota. Savannah leads by example in teaching the skills to other DSPs needed to provide a remarkable service. Savannah works in our residential program with adolescents.

HIT also had the top DSP in North Dakota last year!

2011 Pat's Pantry a huge success!

Each year HIT Inc. employees gather food products, toys, household supplies for a non-profit company in the Bismarck Mandan area each October and November. In 2011 HIT, Inc. selected the Carries Kids, Ruth Myers House, KIDS Program and West River Head Start to receive the donated supplies.

This year was great to see all the wonderful items donated to Pat’s Pantry If Pat were here today she would be so proud of all of you. HIT surely can say that we employ REMARKABLE People!! All the wonderful giving hearts chipped in a grand total of 4,036 items. We surpassed last year by 475 items!!!! WOW and THANK YOU!!

Last year over 103 HIT, Inc. employees participated and gathered over 3,561 items for donation to the HIT Pat's Pantry campaign. Pat's Pantry is named after the late Pat Knudson, a very dedicated employee at HIT and for the individuals we support.

HIT received the prestigious "Mike Fink Award for Steady Growth and Profitability" at the Bismarck Mandan Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business award presentation conducted at the Ramkota in Bismarck. The award was presented to HIT August 18th in front of an audience of 450 people gathered to share in the success of HIT and other businesses in Bismarck/Mandan.

Second ICF construction begins

HIT began excavation and construction on its second ICF twin home complex this week. These homes will be home for four individuals each. You can monitor the construction by going to the photo gallery on http://www.hitinc.org/about/gallery/ and click on "1301/1303" Homes to view the photos throughout the summer. The homes are scheduled to be completed in September 2011. The twin homes are located in south west Mandan ND.

HIT tops 500th employee mark!

HIT has supassed the 500 mark in total number of enployees. Our dedicated and remarkable team continues to grow. Mike Remboldt, CEO states, "HIT's growth continues due to the need that is present in ND and the Bismarck-Mandan communities. We'll see additional growth this year by adding another 30 employees this summer for a new residential home being built in Mandan scheduled to open in September 2011. I'm proud of each and every one of our staff, handling expansion of programs and all the while keeping our high quality of services."

We're proud of our brain injury services. For the second year in the row US News and World Report ranked Dakota Alpha in the elite top again!

In the rankings, Best Nursing Homes Definitions, Best Nursing Homes, The 18 nursing homes listed alphabetically below make up the 2011 Honor Roll. They were the only homes, out of more than 15,500 in the latest U.S. News Best Nursing Homes rankings, to receive four straight quarters of perfect five-star ratings from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, in health inspections, nurse staffing, and quality of care, the three areas in which CMS evaluates these facilities.

Book Drive for West River Head Start

Do you have books collecting dust or some that just take up space? Share the love of reading with others. West River Head Start is accepting books for all ages!

What: New or gently used books for toddler through adult ages

Why: Reading is a basic tool in living a good life. We want to encourage the love of reading!

Where: West River Head Start, 1004 7th Street SW, Mandan

When: Book collection is now through January 25th, 2011

All books will be given away at our annual Family Literacy Night on January 27th! Please drop off books at our center in Mandan
or the HIT, Inc. administration office at 1007 18th St. NW in Mandan.

2010 Pat's Pantry Campaign

Each year HIT Inc. employees gather food products, toys, household supplies for a non-profit company in the Bismarck Mandan area each October and November. In 2010 HIT has selected the Abused Adult Resource Center and West River Head Start to receive the donated supplies.

The 2010 winners of Pat’s Pantry is… 18th St Day Program! They turned in a whopping 1091 points worth of items which averages to 99 points per person. This also raised our total people of donating up to 103 people. There was a total of 3,561 items donated.

In 2009 over 90 employees participated and gathered over 2500 items for donation to the HIT Pat's Pantry campaign. Pat's Pantry is named after the late Pat Knudson, a very dedicated employee at HIT and for the individuals we serve.

Ribbon Cutting at new ICF's

The Bismarck Mandan Chamber held a ribbon cutting ceremony on November 18th to help celebrate the opening of the two new 4 bed ICF's in south Mandan. The homes will create 30 new jobs in Mandan. Eight individuals from the State of ND Developmental Center in Grafton will be arriving in Mandan in coming weeks.
