How We Are Funded
istock_toddlergirldrawing.jpgEarly Intervention services with the K.I.D.S. Program are provided at no cost to families.  The program is funded through the Department of Human Services—Developmental Disabilities Division using Federal Part C grant, state, and Medicaid dollars.  Because Medicaid is used to help pay for the majority of North Dakota’s early intervention services, families are encouraged to apply their referred child for Medical Assistance (MA).  Medicaid may also be used as a primary/secondary insurance for the child eligible for Early Intervention.  If a family chooses not to apply their child for Medicaid, they can continue to receive Early Intervention with Part C monies as their payment source.
