Who We Are
The K.I.D.S. Program’s Early Intervention team consists of a variety of professionals who work together to support each child and family’s priorities. Professional backgrounds supporting families include: early childhood special education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech/language pathology, social work, nursing, and early childhood education. In addition to their respective professional training, staff have knowledge of early childhood development, adult learning theory, and family and community systems.
Each eligible child is assigned a Primary Early Intervention Professional (PEIP) whose role is to partner with caregivers (parents, grandparents, older siblings, child care providers, etc.) to provide the information, encouragement, emotional support, and materials needed to make the most of learning opportunities throughout a child’s day.
The K.I.D.S. Program’s Early Intervention team further supports enrolled children and their families with consultation. PEIPs may bring team members of differing disciplines along to home visits to provide consultation in their area of expertise. Consultation needs are determined at team meetings and outlined in the child’s Individual Family Service Plan.
