Who is Eligible?
If you are working 30 hours or more per week, you are eligible to enroll in the benefits outlined on this page. If you are a part-time employee working an average of 30 hours or more per week during the Affordable Care Act (ACA) measurement period, you will be notified once you become eligible to enroll in health insurance through HIT, Inc.
Benefits for qualifying employees will be effective either the 1st or 16th of the month following your employment date. For example, if you are hire date is May 4th, you can choose whether your benefits will become effective on May 16th or June 1st. If you do not take action within the first 30 days of your employment, you must wait until the next open enrollment period.
You will not be able to make any benefit changes to your plans until the next annual open enrollment unless you experience a qualifying life event:
Marriage, divorce or legal separation
Birth or adoption of a child
Death of a spouse, child or other qualified dependent
Loss of other health coverage
