HIT’s Employment Services Program supports both youth and adults in achieving meaningful employment in the communities of Bismarck, Mandan, and Dickinson. Our team provides individualized job development and job coaching services designed to help participants enter and thrive in the competitive workforce.
Who Qualifies?
To be eligible for services, individuals must have mental or physical impairments that presents a substantial barrier to employment. Participants are referred to HIT through the North Dakota Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
We work with individuals of varying ages — from high school students in their final two years to adults over the age of 50 — providing support that meets each person’s unique goals and circumstances.
To ensure compliance with the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), individuals under age 25 must be referred to the North Dakota Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) for assessment and eligibility determination prior to starting Pre-Vocational or Small Group Employment services.
What to Expect
Once referred, individuals are matched with a dedicated Employment Specialist who provides comprehensive, one-on-one support. Services include:
Resume development
Application assistance
Interview preparation
Job matches based on skills and interests
On-the-job coaching and follow-along support
Additional Services Offered
HIT’s Employment Services Program also provides:
Customized Employment through the Discovery Process
Short- and long-term coaching
Situational assessments to evaluate job readiness
Job development services to connect with potential employers
Work experience opportunities for transition-age youth
All services are individualized and person-centered, with a focus on empowering each person to achieve their employment goals in a supportive and inclusive environment.
