West River Head Start
Learning and Passion Equal Success
West River Head Start is a special place where wonderment is nurtured and curiosity grows. A place where creativity is cultivated and imagination blossoms. Head Start is a safe place filled with joy and acceptance. West River Head Start provides 3 to 5 year old children an opportunity to grow, thrive and develop a passion for learning. With age appropriate curriculum and lessons, West River Head Start provides a foundation for academic success and school readiness that scaffolds children on a path of critical thinking and strong social emotional health.
Experience something unique and heartwarming when you walk into one of the classrooms. Listen to the buzz of activity: wooden blocks clicking, crisp pages from a favorite book turning excitedly and the unforgettable sound of children laughing and giggling. These sound are continually interrupted with the “oohs” and “awes” from inquisitive young ones as they participate in hands-on experiences that stimulate deep and impactful learning.
Experience the magic as well. See children working together and communicating to accomplish common goals. See smiling teachers at eye-level with children as they help, encourage and foster them to try harder to accomplish a task. See a positive learning culture that warms your heart.
Parents and families are vital to a child's success. West River Head Start provides support and education to parents and caretakers with the two-generation model. The two-generation model supports parents and children at the same time to promote success at home and in the classroom. Parents set productive goals, and receive support in attaining that goal. Parents learn about healthy brain development and how it impacts their children. Most importantly, West River Head Start listens to parents’ thoughts and opinions on their children’s education. West River Head Start truly believes that parents are their children’s first and most important teachers and takes parents seriously. Take the opportunity to give your child a Head Start to enable their success and happiness!
